EPUSIL EP 174 and EP 174 LV

Epoxy Casting Compound with Adjustable Flexibility

DESCRIPTION

Epusil EP 174 and EP 174 LV (low viscosity) are epoxy-casting compounds, which permit the user to select the degree of flexibility desired. They are used for electronic casting and embedment, and for sealing and cementing of plastics, metals, ceramics, wood and rubber. They display good low temperature flexibility and resist cracking down to –550C even in a thin film. The flexibility of Epusil EP 174 and EP 174 LV is determined by the amount of Epcure 174 or Epcure 24 (low viscosity version of Epcure 174) used to cure them according to the following suggested ranges:

Flexible                                     Approx. 30 Shore D

MIXING INSTRUCTION

1.             Mix Epusil 174 or EP 174 LV in original container to assure uniformity.

2.             Weigh out desired amount of Epusil and Epcure 174 or 24, mix together thoroughly.

3.             Pour into unit, mold, container, etc. Air removal can be effected with vacuum.

Demolding can be done in 8 hours at 250C, although property development will continue for an additional 24-48 hours. For castings of 0.5 kg. or less, elevated temperatures (to 650C) will accelerate the cure.
